Over the past several years, companies across the globe have begun to recognize the importance of having a strong, positive workplace culture. As such, many have focused their efforts on defining the unique vibe that makes them who they are and fostering that culture amongst employees. Thankfully, achieving this goal for your property management company isn’t nearly as challenging as it may seem – particularly when you know just what “perks” will get your employees on board and fully engaged. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Be Flexible
When you allow your employees the freedom and ability to work whenever and wherever they’re most productive, you demonstrate how much you trust them. This in turn nurtures a mutual respect and appreciation, which is important in establishing and strengthening your company culture. Consider offering flexible hours and letting employees work remotely, even if it’s just once a week.

Support Social Causes
Today’s workforce lists social responsibility as one of the most important things they look for in an employer. People want to work for companies that are giving back and they want to feel as though they’re making a difference. You can leverage this in your organization by promoting and supporting things like volunteer work and other community outreach activities, and by allowing time off and providing compensation for these things.
Make Work Balance Life
If you want your employees to spend more time at the office, make it easier and more plausible for them to do so by creating a workplace that supports life balance. For instance, having food delivered to the lunchroom every day and allowing employees to bring their well-behaved dogs to the office will make it much more convenient for them to just stay at work, which means a boost in productivity for your firm. In other words, everybody benefits.

Offer Referral Bonuses
We’re not talking about referring new customers. We’re talking about referring new employees. Think about it. You’ve worked hard to assemble a team that you feel is the best of the best. Chances are those awesome people know other awesome people who would make a great addition to the team. Offering referral incentives is a great way to cut through all the red tape, get access to top talent more easily and create a more harmonious culture.
Recognize, Celebrate and Reward Success
As your employees accomplish great things they ultimately push your property management company toward even greater success. Reward their efforts by recognizing and celebrating them. Whether it’s as simple as treating someone to lunch or something as big as awarding a monetary bonus, when your employees feel valued, they’ll want to continue to give it their all year-round.
